CD I burned w/ a CD case I made in the craft room! Everybody say, wowwwwww!

Burning CDs, a lost art if you ask me. Turns out it’s super easy. I could probably tell you how to do it in under a minute. However, I am choosing to show you in a blog post with too many pictures. Not sure if I’m allowed to say “for dummies” here so I’ll opt for the less witty option. How to burn CDs for beginners.

Locate the disc drive located behind the office desk on the shelf. Ask a staff member if you need help locating it and also for permission to use it. The disc drive can also be used to download music from a cd onto your laptop as well. Please return it to a staff member or to it’s rightful place on the shelf when done.

Pop a blank CD into the disc drive. These can be found in the Electronica Lab, please ask a staff member from the Electronica Lab for help locating the CDs and for permission before taking a blank CD.

Next you will need to download your songs as mp3 files and put them all into one playlist.

To do this with Spotify you will need to use a website that converts your Spotify playlists into mp3 files. Simply take the link to your desired song or playlist and paste it into any mp3 converter website.

Once your songs have been downloaded you can use the Music application on a Macbook. Simply drag your mp3 files from Finder into the Music app. Then create a playlist with your desired songs, most CDs will fit 15 songs or 74 minutes of songs.

After creating the playlist find the 3 dots and click on it. There will be an option that says “Burn Playlist to Disc…"

Simply wait for the songs to burn and boom. You now have a new personal CD full of your favorite songs to keep for yourself or gift to friends and lovers! Maybe don’t sell it on the internet… pretty sure that’s not legal!

Happy burning! CDs that is, arson is also not legal.
