Fix your devices at M5!!
The Right to Repair is the right to freely modify and repair products that you have purchases. It refers to how companies should not make a product difficult to repair just so that a customer is forced to pay for repairs directly from the company.
The theme of right to repair can be seen in daily-use products, where some companies elect to use uncommon screw or connector types, or making the device break where there is ‘tampering’ from the customer. This makes it difficult to access device internals for repair or exploration.
Ever heard of IFixit? It is THE go-to place for repair guides, replacement parts, and repair tools.
Here at M5 we have some of the tools needed for repairing phones and laptops.
Spudgers and picks are good for prying off connectors, panels, and screens.
Suction cups are good for remove screens and panels that are attached with adhesive
Heating pads (or hairdryers) are good for loosening adhesive on components
Of course, screwdrivers and an assortment of bits are good for unscrewing various screws
Make the most of the devices you own by learning whats inside and how to fix issues yourself rather than relying on company repairs.
