Machine Shop Idea: Give New Paint jobs

As we can see, this box cutter is kind of old looking and could use a nice paint job. This can be applied to many things to give them new life. In a wold of over consumption, it is refreshing to be able to fix something without voiding warranties or fighting with customer support.

Step 1 is to remove the old paint job. This can be done with stripper or sandpaper, I chose to use the flap-wheel on the Dremel

Step 2 is to choose an appropriate spray paint. By following the directions on the bottle and having thin coats, you can get pretty good finishes with just spray paint. Obviously any other type of paint can also be used, even Plasti Dip!

Here’s the finished product! It may not be perfect, but it definitely better than it was before.
